This is one of my favorite blogs, even though lots of the articles are
about more modern legal topics than I am typically interested in. I
guess it depends on what you think of as "history."

No, I didn't think commenting on the blog was appropriate either. After
hearing many of the horror stories on this list and in other venues one
can understand some of the attitude. I'm just hoping that as more
researchers act in a professional manner no matter what repository they
are in, this attitude will be dispelled. And I'm hoping it happens
sooner rather than later. It is frustrating to see how long one bad
experience can linger and cause problems for those who come after. And a
good thing for us all to remember when we are in the corner in tears
trying to read that 17th century document Kadens refers to.

I wonder why all these genealogists starring in the horror stories
aren't reading the articles we see that explain what should and should
not be done in a repository. Its not like its a secret anyone is trying
to hide. And most of it is just common courtesy. Oh wait, that died when
cell phones were invented. <smile>
