Actually, there was a very unflattering Mantua style,
not form fitting, made of coarse fabric, made for and
eused by very large, usually very poor, women as well.
I have a delightful photo of my mother's very large
grandmother and equally large, greatgrandmother. They
were hard working, and hard looking, farmers.
