She probably received both because they covered earnings during different
time periods. She was not covered under SS during her earlier employment, she
was covered under her local pension plan, but apparently she was covered
during her later employment after she opted to be included under SS and obtained
a card. She should have an SS number that begins with: 468-477 if the card
was issued in Minnesota.
