Can anyone tell me why people were migrating from Ohio to Cooper and Lafayette Counties, Missouri around 1870 or send me a link to a website that would have the history on these counties on it?
I spend most of the afternoon yesterday going to every website I could find looking for this information. I was hoping to find county history books online but was not able to find any. I searched Genweb, Ancestry.com's library, Heritage Quest and the genealogy and historical societies for both of these counties but came up empty-handed.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank.
