Subject: Gripes about Ancestry
Date: Mon, 9 May 2005 21:04:53 EDT
If someone wants to make certain that Ancestry or anyone does not bill to
credit card without permission as an ongoing thing, all one has to do is
open a credit card just for that purpose and charge the initial charge with
Ancestry or whoever. After they pay the bill for the initial charge, just
cancel the credit card completely and there will be no repeat charges.....
It is my understanding that opening and closing credit lines like this
affects your credit rating just as canceling accounts that you have had
for years, but haven't used for an extended period. Maybe, you could shed
some light on whether this actually does affect your rating.
