While doing research on some Union soldiers in the 1860 census from Michigan
and New York I kept coming across a place of birth of N.S.W.

It seemed strange to me that so many Austrailians would be in Michigan and
New York, as in New South Wales.

Then I came across a J. Wilkes map of British Colonies in North America
dated 1797 that showed New South Wales to be just southeast of New North
Wales, just south of Hudson Bay.

So right church (Anglican?), wrong pew.

PS. If you have not heard that Midnight Madness started today, I would be
remiss in not mentioning it.
