Dear List,

Reading some of the recent posts regarding "Is this Book Reliable" reminded
me of an interesting find. While doing research for a client at the Alabama
Archives & History, I discovered that for the following publication,
History of Alabama and Dictionary of Alabama Biography by Thomas McAdory
Owen; the archives retained the original information obtained for the bio
included in the book. Thomas Owen was the founder of the Alabama Archives.

The file that I obtained a copy of had much more information than the bio,
including obituaries, etc.

Possibly some other data from earlier books may be preserved at some
location.
