Ray:

Don't know if this will help....but here be help found in the book, "Guide
to Genealogical Research in the National Archives of the United States." At
one point in time on the NARA site the complete "Guide to Federal Research
in the National Archives of the United States" was shown. When my computer
crashed I lost the bookmark I had for it. I have tried unsuccessfully to
find it again but my time is limited today to search for it. I will try
later and get back to you. If still there, it is a wonderful guide for
researching Record Groups at NARA. One other place to look, in "A
Comprehensive Catalog of Microfilm Resources for Research," there is a
listing for Provost Marshall General, M621, M1163 (51.1) and quite a number
of listings under "Presidents, U.S." Maybe some of the above will help. I
find the first and last books to be a great help to me and have them in my
personal library. The middle book can be purchased but it is quite expensive
(about $100.00) and is in three volumes.
