Hi Nancy,
Indexes are really important - and ALL of a female's names should be
included - maiden and all marriages with cross-references if needed. I
also like MANY indexes - and usually do a marriage index by both bride
and groom's names and a place index as well. Think about what helps YOU
when you look in a new book - and make as many indexes as will help a
reader of your work easily find what is useful.

Is there a standard or guideline for indexing females? Should they be
indexed by only their married name or by maiden and married name?

Regards,
Nancy
