I am glad to hear the Heritage Quest promptly got your disks corrected.
Thought I would add that Heritage Quest has now added their indexes to each
of the digital CD's. This is for every state that they have completed the
indexing. All of 1870, 1790, 1800, 1810, and parts of other years. (1910 for
CT, DE, MD, NH, etc.). Really easy to use...but then, I do work there. Just
type in your search and the page is instantly there. Zoom in, enlarge, flip
from positive to negative view, lot's of handy features. You can sort by
surname, first name, place of birth, race, location etc. (For example: you
can pull up all women named, Matilda, born in Ireland, living in Greene
County, NY in 1910.....or all Perkins, born in NH and living in CA in 1870).
Computers are great tools.
Onward,
Tom

I own all the census microfilm CD's for Brown Co., Kansas. The images are
very good. You can zoom in quite close and also lighten or darken the
image to make it more readable. You can select a particular page to
examine, or browse sequentially. There is no name index.
I discovered that my 1860 census CD was missing several pages from the
beginning of the census. I wrote to Heritage Quest, and they quickly took
action to replace the CD and paid for the return of the defective one.
