| I'm trying to find the passenger list for the Germans and Swiss that
came
| to NY in 1710 from Germany. . . . . . . .
| Rosemary"
|
| Start at the Palatine Genealogy section of Olive Tree Genealogy
| http://olivetreegenealogy.com/pal/
|
| Read the choices :
|
| Palatine Ships' Lists to PA
| Palatine Ships' Lists to NY
| Palatine Child Apprentices 1710-1714
| Palatine Denizations (Naturalizations) 1708
| Family Names
| Historical Overview
| Palatine Mailing Lists
| Palatine Links Palatine Resources & Addresses
| Palatine Books
| Definitions
| Then choose which one you want. I suspect you'll pick Palatine Ships Lists
to
| NY, so you can go directly there if you want by using this URL:

|
| In June 1710 Governor Robert Hunter and 2,400 Germans arrived in New York
from
| England. Over 3,000 had left
| London England almost 6 months previously and over 1/5 died en route.
These
were
| the Palatines from Germany.
|
| The passenger lists for the ships carrying these refugees are lost, but we
have
| the names of some from various
| records and correspondence. Preceeding the Palatine immigration were
various
| letters and petitions in England,
| where the Palatines were waiting to sail to America. These provide us with
some
| names of the first immigrants.
|
| There is a list of known ships, and some passenger names on the URL above
|
| Good luck!
| Lorine
