Bobby Gilmer Moss has compiled two publications which list the roster of
loyalists and patriots at the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. They are
entitled "Roster of the Loyalists in the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge" and
"Roster of the Patriots in the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge". Both
publications sold for $19.95 each when I purchased them about eight or ten
years ago from the Eastern National Park and Monument Association. They were
copyrighted in 1992 and were published by the Scotia-Hibernia Press, 519
Batchelor Drive, Blacksburg, South Carolina.

Many entries in both books are annotated with information about the soldiers
on both sides. Of course Dr. Moss doesn't claim that his rosters are
complete but they are the best source for information on the participants in
this battle. For instance I believe that my 5th great grandfather, Malcolm
Purcell (c 1748-c 1776), was a loyalist participant in this battle even
though the family history, compiled in 1942, says that he was a patriot. His
name does not appear in either publication by Dr. Moss. Incidentally,
records indicate that only one patriot was killed as a result of this
battle.
