Is there a list of men who died during the battle of Lexington on April 19,
1775?
My 5th ggf Christopher (Charles) (Askins) Erskine, d. April 19, 1775 "near
Lexington, MA. of shock or war wounds." His body was reportedly identified by
his wife Susanna Robinson (Askins) Erskine.
Christopher (Charles Askins) Erskine, was b. between 1700-1709, poss. in No.
Ireland or Scotland. This would have made him quite old to be fighting in the
battle, but perhaps this was not uncommon. He lived in Abington, Plymouth
County, Mass. where he was m. in 1729.
His son Christopher Erskine, b. 1734 was also reportedly a Rev. War Patriot,
but died in 1825 in Whitefield, Maine.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
