Capt. Robert McKOWN (mariner) was a commissary for troops at Bristol, Maine
and evidently used his ship during the Rev. He also was commissioner of
commissioner of safety and correspondence.

Yes, you can join DAR/SAR on anyone with patriotic service. For a complete
list of eligible service go to <A HREF="">Daughters of the
American Revolution</A>
Click Membership on the left and Membership Eligibility on the right.

I have checked for Robert McKown/McCown, and he is not listed. However, if
there is valid service, someone could join it him.
