Yes, you can join DAR/SAR on anyone with patriotic service. For a complete
list of eligible service go to <A HREF="http://www.dar.org/">Daughters of the
American Revolution</A> http://www.dar.org/
Click Membership on the left and Membership Eligibility on the right.

I have checked for Robert McKown/McCown, and he is not listed. However, if
there is valid service, someone could join it him.
