Head Quarters, Wyoming,
"The Deputy Quarter Master General is directed to make an immediate return of
all the Continental horses at this place.
Taken up on the 7th instant at Bullucks Tavern a bright bay mare about 15
hands high, trots and canters well, appears to be half-blooded, her off hind
foot, white mane and tail lately trimmed, not branded, the proper owner may have
her by applying to Lieut. Armitage of the Artillery."
Saturday July 10, 1779 reports from the Western front:
Erkuries Beatty, Lieutenant, 4th PA, Lake Otsego, "Lay quiet in Camp all day."
Henry Dearborn, Lieutenant Colonel, 3rd NH, Forty Fort, "A detachment of 150 men
was sent from the 2nd & 3'd N. Hampshire regt under the command of Col Reid
towards Easton to repare the rode & help to forward some waggons with
Dr. Ebenezer Elmer, Surgeon, 2nd NJ, "Rainy in P. M."
Daniel Livermore, Captain, 3rd NH, "This day I ride to town for recreation.
Towards evening ride down the river four miles to a place called Shawney. The
land is exceedingly good and pleasant. I return home late. Visit the guards at
twelve o'clock at night. This day Capt. Frye and Capt. Ellis set out on their
command to Brinker's Mills."
Robert Parker, Lieutenant, 2nd NY Artillery, Lake Otsego, "This day found by
experience F:M == m:E."
Rev. William Rogers, D. D., Chaplain, Hand's Brigade, describes another test of
the Fleet, a 5.5 howitzer in a batteau, and other events of the day at:
