Mary,

Deidesheim is now in the county of Bad Dürkheim, Bezirk of Rheinhessen-Pfalz
and land
of Rheinland-Pfalz. The town is located about 55 km north of the French
border.
Deidesheim (ZIP 67146) was in the French département "Mont-Tonnerre" between
1798 and 1814,
but was never part of Alsace.
