Brauweiler is now Brouviller (département of Moselle, Lorraine) located
about 7 km west of Phalsbourg.
The Lutheran community of Brouviller was in the parish of Phalsbourg.

According to the site http://www.geopatronyme.com/ the most births of
MOUTIER between 1891-1915 were registered in Alsace-Lorraine in the
departement of Moselle at:
1. Henridorff
2. Brouviller
3. Audun-le-Tiche
4. Dieuze
5. Niderviller
(these communes are ranked by number of births)

The French telephone directory has one listing for the name MOUTIER in
Brouviller, but no listing for Moutie/Mouthie/Mouthier/Mouthiet/ or similar
names.
The most listings for MOUTIER in Moselle are located in the area of
Brouviller: 3 listings in Dannelbourg, 7 in Henridorff, 4 in Phalsbourg, 4
in Sarrebourg, 1 in Lutzelbourg, Réding and St-Jean-Kourtzerode
