Old Fashion Day is Oct 1st, the first Saturday of the month. Sorry I forgot to mention. Guess I thought if I knew everyone knew too!
Sulligent, AL is located about 34 miles south of Hamilton, AL and about 25 miles east of Amory, MS. Old Fashion Day is a day of food, fun and fellowship. Arts, crafts and a county fair this year. I understand butter will be made and other crafts that are almost forgotten will be done such as quilting.
The Lamar County Heritage and Pickens County Heritage books will be sold at a special price for October.
Regular price for Lamar book is $65.00 and Pickens book regular price is $55.00. Heritage Publishing will let me know by Oct 1st the special price.
The Marion County Heritage book and Walker County Heritage book will not be on special because they are second printing. They are $60.00 each.
If you want one of the books and can not come to Old Fashion Day, I can arrange to have shipped to you at a cost of $5.00. I am selling these books for Heritage Publishing Company as a service to folks who would like a copy but do not know where to order.
The Lamar County Images of America is my book(Barbara Woolbright Carruth) and it has over 230 images of persons, places etc of early Lamar County. The price of it is 18.99, if shipped add $3.00 shipping. Check this site for information on it. http://www.fayette.net/carruth/images_of_america_lamar_county.htm
