I have been so busy that I am just now getting back to my genealogy.

Possible children of Charles Middleton & Elizabeth McDougal (wonder if this is his 2nd wife and other children could have been from another wife):
a. James Allen Middleton was born in LaRue Co., Kentucky on June 19, 1827
and was a son of Charles V. Middleton and Elizabeth (McDougal) Middleton.
Charles was born in Virginia on December 8, 1770 and was a son of Thomas Middleton.

. Additionally, Benningfield wrote, “James’ parents were married in LaRue County on March 18, 1820 by Rev. David Thurma. James apparently grew up with ties to the Nolin Baptist Church. James not only had ties to some of the most prominent pioneer families of central Kentucky, he was a well liked venturous young leader. James was married at Buffalo on March 17, 1853 to Martha Brownfield. He and Martha had children as follows from the oldest to the youngest: Nannie, George B, Elizabeth, Carrie H., and Olive.
