If this is Robert Adams of Goochland Co., VA who married Mourning Lewis
they are my ancestors and Mourning Lewis was the daughter of William Lewis
and Ann Montgomery....who was no Indian....Robert Adams and Mourning Lewis
were the parents fo my Anna Adams who married Charles Douglas, Sr born April
9, 1732 of Hanover Co.

Is there any documentation of the marriage of Robert Adams to an Indian?

There is an Indian Princess legend in the Ferguson line I am in--this would
explain it. Robert Adams married Mourning Lewis, daughter of Hugh Lewis and
Indian princess, Nikita
Oppecamanugh. This Ferguson line was always working with the Indians
