my grandmother was from kaplan, i have traced her family all the way back to germany, her dad was etienne abshire and her mom was octavie herpin. the problem i ran into was the spelling of abshire. it was spelled abcher.as far back as i got was jean jacques abshire but am still digging. my grandfather came from kaplan also his dad was augustin duhon..
