As you say, it depends on whether what I have is what you need, and Barbara too, and
though I note that Barbara is interested in the possibility of the STEPHEN folk in
Aberdeen, if either or both of you have researched all the families in Kincardineshire,
what I have may not be of use to you. As someone else has already said, the name is
variable. The records I have were collated following on foot searches in Old Parish
Registers.
I have three trees which I typed in Excel format, using the cells to construct a "tree"
each having several branches.
1) Commencing with David STEPHEN, born about 1610 who married Elspeth BRADDY.
Those names with whom they married are, WHITEHEAD, ANDERSON, SIM, FOULERTON, FALCONER,
NAPIER, BUCHAN, TAYLOR, STRACHAN, MURRAY, DUFFUS, DOUGLAS, to name a few,
2) Commencing with William STEPHEN who married Mary ANDREW in 1727.
Those names with whom they married are, KEMLO, ROBERTSON, KERR, MORRICE, HENDERSON, SMART,
LINDSAY, DUNCAN, WATT, WATSON, EMSLEY, GLENNIE, WILL to name a few, and
3) Commencing with, Andrew STEPHEN who married Helen DOUGLAS in 1754.
Those names with whom they married are, GRAY, SPENCE, MUFFERT, CHRISTIE, FREEMAN, MURRAY,
CATANACH, BRODIE, GRIGGIE, MOLLISON, WALLACE, SCOTT, TURNBULL, YOUNG.
The third tree brings the date to the early 20th century.
I am sorry, if none of these are of interest, but I couldnt let your posts pass without
offering what I have.
Janet
