Go to Scotland's People and look for her death between 1851 and 1851. IF
you get lucky and it's after 1855 you should get the death registration. I
pulled the 1841, 1851, and 1861 census off , and suspect the
reason you think Isobel wasn't that age (84) is because an Isobel age 12
shows as her daughter. I suspect this girl to be illegitimate or the
daughter of one of Isobel>John Rae's sons. The girl shows on the '41 as age
3, but no relationship is given.....considering that Isobel Sr's youngest
child is age 14 (also Isobel) and she is given as age 60 on the '41, I would
suspect this girl is not her's. To make more sense there are 3 Isobel's
shown on the 1841, Isobel Hay age 60, Isobel age 14, Ag Lab, and Isobel age
3. Do you have all the children to Isobel and John Rae? I'll see what I
can turn up. Goldie

I would like to find the parents of Isobel Hay who married John Rae in
Auchterless on 3 Jan 1801. Isobel and John lived most of their married life
on a farm in Alvah, Banffshire. In the 1851 Census, Isobel is recorded as
being born in Tarves, Aberdeenshire and being aged 84, However I feel that
she may not have been as old as that. Can anyone help me find her parents?
