A special thank you to George, Alison and Teresa for information on this
book. I will check with our local Library first. It is for sale on Amazon
for almost $30.
My grandfather, John Hendry was born in Drumfold, Parish of Cairney on 11
April, 1861. His parents, John Hendry and Jessie Milne are buried at the
Kirk in Cairney. They lived at Ginomires, Cairney. Does anyone connect with
this family?
Many, many thanks,
Helen Jane

The copy I have of "The Book of the Chronicles of Keith, Grange, Ruthen,
Cairney, and Botriphnie: Events, Places and Persons (1880) is part of the
Kessinger Publishing " Legacy Reprint Series. ISBN
1437273580<http://www.flipkart.com/book-chronicles-keith-grange-ruthven-book
-1437273580>It
is a paper back edition and this is the book that is generally offered
for sale on Amazon, E-bay etc. It is not cheap but as Alison says it is a
fascinating book.
It is available in many libraries particularly University libraries in the
UK and USA. A digital copy is held by the Hathi Trust Digital Library but a
full view is not available however you can use the "Search in this text"
search box to find frequency and page number of specific words and phrases.
This can be especially useful to help you decide if the book is worth buying
and provides a much better index than that at the back of the book or you
can use the search facility on the link provided by Alison.
