That certainly looks a possibility, Pam. The Scottish naming pattern
isn't much help when the surname is frequent and the name is
Alexander.

In case you don't know, the way to get the recorded children of a
father or a couple is to use the IGI. Go to Family Search and click
on International Genealogical Index in the left panel. Or go to
http://bit.ly/RCH-IGI
Search for the child you know about and look for the Batch no. at the
foot of the screen. If it is a web ink with the format: "Cnnnnnn"
then it comes from either an OPR or the statutory records up to 1875.
When you click on that you go back to the Search screen but with the
reference in the "Batch No" field at the foot. NOTE that the years
covered is also shown.
Now just enter the "last name" plus the father's first name plus the
mother's first name or first & last names if it is known. This will
give you all the children born to parents of that name[s] in the
timeframe of the film. CHECK for different families with the same
parental names!!
If you want to check the years before or after the dates covered then
you have to get the adjacent batch number which may not be
consecutive!!! You can find a full list of all Scottish
Birth/Christening and Marriage batch numbers at
