I have traced my Abel line back as far as there are Church records and
although I know of a few references to Abels before that, there is too
little information available to build a family tree out of.

But the wives of the Abels along the way are woefully lacking.

1) 1st Great Grandparents:
Peter Abel m Elizabeth Moir b 22 nov 1819, Monymusk, d 18 Jan 1889 Burn
Head, Keith Hall. Elizabeth's parents: William Moir b Aug 1782, m 24 Mwy
1812, Monymusk, d 6 feb 1852. Married Mary Donald Chr 20 Jul 1790 Keig d 19
Apr 1870. Elizabeth's grandparents: John Moir b abt 1723 m 16 jun 1763
Keig, d 26 May 1807. Married Elizabeth Innes b abt 1744 d 1803.
I understand that the destruction of the first church book of Keig Parish
will make the further pursuit of this line very difficult.
Mary Donald's parents: Alexander Donald Chr 22 sep 1754 Keig, m 1785.
Married Agnes Cobban Chr 14 Feb 1762 Keig. I have Agnes' ancestry back to
my 6th great grandparents John Cobban b Bankhead, Clatt and his wife Janet
Henderson.

2) 2nd great Grandparents:
Alexander Abel did not marry Isabella Smith. Their son Peter was born out
of wedlock. Isabella b 8 Nov 1778 Isabella's father was John Smith b abt
1752 m 28 jul 1778 Kintore, d Mar 1829 Kintore. John Smith's ancestry not
traced because of the complexity sorting out the very numerous Smiths. John
married Teresa Wyness Chr 24 Dec 1753 Inverurie, d Feb 1829. I have traced
the Wyness ancestors back to my 6th great grandfather Patrick Wyness b abt
1660. Wife's name unknown.

3) 3rd Great Grandparents:
James Abel m Jean Brown Chr 23 Jun 1741 Kintore. Jean was the daughter of
Robert Brown m 20 Aug 1730 Kemnay. Married Isobel Forbes Chr 7 Nov 1700 Old
Machar daughter of Alexander Forbes, mother's name unknown.

4) 4th Great Grandparents:
George Abel Chr 18 Mar 1691 Kemnay, m 12 Mar 1725 Inverurie. George married
Barbara Grub. Nothing further known about Barbara.

5) 5th Great Grandparents:
Robert Abel m Isobel Gordon

6) 6th Great Grandparents:
Robert Abel- Christian Ronaldson. Christian was the daughter of William
Ronaldson

7) 7th Great Grandfather:
William Abel, wife unkown.

I have great hopes that the Browns and the Forbes can be sorted out, but
they are very numerous. The Grub family is rather smaller but my success
so far has been nil.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone with further information regarding
any of these people. I am also interested in descendants of siblings of
these people, cousins down to the present of possible.
