Hi listers, having just joined this list I'm hoping to find help with our Wills ancestors, in particular the family of John Wills of Methlick Aberdeen.

As you can see below tracking John from his marriage onwards is fine but his past is a mystery .I can find no mention for him on Scottish people so, I'm hoping for some local help which would be much appreciated.

This is what I have so far:

According to the IGI John Wills born about 1811 in Methlick Aberdeen Scotland.

Saint Alphage Parish records show he married Hannah Hay from Saint Leonard, Colchester, Essex on 07 Apr 1833 in Saint Alphage Church, Greenwich, Kent, England

According to his military records which I am waiting for from The National Archives at Kew:
JOHN WILLS, Born ABERDEEN, Aberdeenshire Served in Royal Artillery 1824-1849 Discharged aged 39

He is listed on the 1851 for England as being 47 yrs old a Warder at Portland Prison and a Chelsea Pensioner, living in Portland Dorset with his wife Hannah Wills 36, daughter Maria Wills 13 & son William Wills 4 both children born in Woolwich. I also found the family on the 1871, 1881, 1891, all in London area.

John died in 1881 at St George Hanover Square, London, England.

If you've read my rambling so far then thank you, if you can help in any way please reply.

Regards
Carol Wills
