Hi James
ANESFHS used to offer a booklet called "Photographers in N E Scotland to
1914" but this is no longer on their list so I feel it is OK to let you have
details of the only entry for MORGAN.
The information was gathered from various trade directories and Census
returns up to 1914 only so this may be too early for you. Anyway this is an
extract of the entry
George & William MORGAN
1881 Census George was a photographer's assistant.
1 Henry Place, Aberdeen. Age 26, born Clatt.
1884-1905 5 Market Place Aberdeen
1892-1893 3 Bridge Place Aberdeen
1894-1914+ 393 Union Street Aberdeen
1903-1905 Aboyne
1903-1905 Ballater
"The business was known as 'Elite' 1897-1907 and in 1897 was also referred
to as 'Messrs Morgan'. In 1902 only George Morgan was mentioned ... In 1909
they had telephones: Aberdeen 2870 and Peterhead 32X8, although they are not
listed at the latter place."
Don't know if this is the information you wanted but as it's the only one
listed it may be the one you want. Note that the 393 Union Street
establishment persisted after 1914.
