If the shoe was on my foot, I'd want to see the film. It would be
interesting to see who the witnesses were to the christenings, and also see
the marriage record. It might say "from the pairsh of....." or You might
get lucky and find some more McBains or Connan's as well who would be
related. It's labor intensive, but when I am searching for someone I take
down all the Innes's (for ecample) on the film. And anyone who is a witness
I check them out.. I spend some hours then putting these folks into family
groups, and see if there is a relationship between the groups......And I
have been lucky and found connections, but not always. Funny John McBain
doesn't show up on the 1841 census, at least I couldn't find him.....
Ontario Vital Statistics Projects has some McBains as well on their lists.
