Dear Goldie,

Thank you for your kind offer. I am currently visiting my son in California, and don't have any documents with me. I'll be back home in Yorkshire early July, and I'll contact you again then.

The only other thing I can tell you about Gordon and his parents from memory is that Alexander was born about 1890 in Aberdeen. He married in BC, and I think his wife was Jane - I don't remember her surname, but I probably have it at home. They returned to Scotland, and Alex served in the British army. He died in the flu epidemic following the war, I think in Mesopotamia. I don't know for sure when his mother took Gordon home to Canada.

My grandmother also had a sister who emigrated to Vancouver. I think this was wilhelmina (Minnie), who was born about 1885.

I had a look at the web site you mentioned, but my relatives went to canada after Victoria's reign.
