Hi Kirsteen
It looks like Margaret GARDEN married Peter PEDDIE in Peterhead in 1893. I
think I have her in the 1881,1891 & 1901 censuses.
>From what I can make out Helen is in the 1881 census twice. As well as at
her daughter Janes, she is at Broad St, Peterhead with husband John, son
John and daughter Margaret and 4 grandchildren. The transcription has both
John & Helen born incorrectly in Peterhead and at first I was thinking they
were a different family but Scottish births from 1855-1875 are on the IGI
and the only GARDEN children, father John and mother Helen born in
Aberdeenshire in that period have mother Helen WILL.
In 1891 Margaret is transcribed as GORDEN on Ancestry and living at 8 Park
Lane, Peterhead. With her are children
Helen GORDEN 12
James GORDEN 10
Samuel GORDEN 10
George GORDEN 7
Margaret PEDDIE 3
Peter PEDDIE 2
In 1901 the family are living at 10 Ugie St (sic) Peterhead and consist of
the following. All spellings as transcribed
Peter PEDDIE 40
Margaret PEDDIE 40
James GARDEN 20
Samuel GARDEN 20
George GRANT 17
Margaret PEDDIE 13
Peter PEDDIE 12
William PEDDIE 10
Anna Bella PEDDIE 8
Fred Bannerman PEDDER 5
Jane McPherson PEDDER 3
Robert Foreman PEDDER 2
Hora PEDDIE 5months
