I've seen enough from people who shared unwittingly to the wrong person - a less than careful "researcher" - to see how it can bastardise our records. I do think we ought to be careful in knowing who we are sharing them with in asking them to prove there is indeed a familial connection before we do. Those who subscribe to Genes Reunited and other such will know, but they don't realise that others who subscribe are not careful in putting their trees together and there are some, I heard from one "who did it because the names seemed to fit" without validating them. I think there's a lesson to be learned first.
