Hi Howard
We have communicated before and I'm sorry but so far I have not come across
Robert CRUICKSHANK in my ancestry, but I am still trying to find my
CRUICKSHANKs in Turriff and would be pleased to hear from you if you have
come across a Jean/Jane Cruickshank who married William Stewart in 1812 in
Forglen although their record states they were both 'in' the parish of
Turriff.
Jean's parents were George Cruickshank and by her death record in 1866 at
the Shank of Hilltown in the parish of Banff, it showed her mother's name as
Margaret Brown but I have only been able to find a marriage between a George
Cruickshank & Margaret Anderson with the time period of Jean's birth about
1780. I have found a birth of Jean to George & Margaret in January 1788 at
Delgaty, Turriff but not sure whether this is the correct one.
Have you come across the above in your research please?
Kind regards
Joan in NSW, Australia
