Subject: People's Scotland a Pauper's prespective
Date: Tue, 7 Feb 2006 06:28:39 -0800 (PST)

People's Scotland costs
The fact that Peoples Scotland is considered good
value for money by some must be an indication of the
amount of wealth knocking around.
Some how I find it a little ironic that the records
that our generally poor ancestors submitted should be
such a source of income for the government who must be
simply raking it in. Understandably there should be a
charge for using the computers in Edinburgh and
Aberdeen (the latter is free by the way) but once the
system is running, like the telephone system, the cost
must be very low and although some may think £6 is a
little, I do not, and the one week time limit is
simply outrageous.

I don't expect anyone will change their minds on this
subject but it is relative that is for sure but I
wanted to give a paupers prespective. I simplt do not
have the money for GROS Peoples scotland fantastic
though it is and yes terrible that Ireland is.
Bye the way I have heard on the grapevine that tyhe
Canadian giovenment has been allowed access to the
Irish records and they are rumoured to be being on
line in a couple of years,
Cheers,
Prasad
