Hi Gloria,
On the one I know positively the informant was the "Gov'r" of the workhouse
in Paisley. That was one which said imate was married but no wife's name,
but the info was the closest to what I did know for certain about my g-g-gf.
Can't quite recall regarding the other two, although I'm positive I did
look. Will have to go back and take a second look just to make sure I'm
'clear' on who did give the info. Those are the ones I felt less sure were
him. I obtained these particular copies from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
Heard from Jane Kelly, who I will answer privately, but just to let her
know: I doubt it would have been in the newspapers at that time (c-mid-late
1890s), as this lot o'mine weren't overly well off or important in society.
Never really considered looking actually due to that, but worth a try.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.
