Suspect this Duff is one of the Craigston or Hatton Duffs.
Helen Duff of Whitehill married her cousin John of Drumblair in 1744.
John was the fourth of Hatton. Bathia and Garden are found in following
generations. Whitehill sems to have remained in the Craigston family
after that marriage.
Haven't time at present to hunt down which family Helen comes from but
it will be one of the Earl Fife Duffs and in the Book of the Duffs.
Some other list member may have the full book and be able to answer
that.
Cheers
