Janette, did any of your Robertson ancestors come from Aberdeen? I
have an Archibald Robertson, s/o William & Jane (Ross) Robertson.
Archibald was b 1765 @ Monymusk, Aberdeenshire. He came to America in 1791, and
stayed in NYC for the rest of his life. He was a miniaturist, portrait
painter (did several portraits of both George and Martha Washington); with his
brother Alexander, (who came to America) shortly after he did, he founded the
Columbian Museum & School of Art, which later became the National Academy of
