Hi Sandi,
Is it possible that the minister had several parishes in his pastoral
charge? And on that particular day he was baptizing all infants in the other
parish? (I have an instance of that here in Ontario)
Or perhaps it was being done there to please family members who were unable
to travel?

Can anyone tell me why my ancestor was baptised out of his family's
parish. The Rayne OPR reads, "James Raff of the parish of Culsalmond had a
son baptised after sermon called Andrew." The date is April 1714. Neither
the mother nor the father were of Rayne parish. I can think of wars and
weather. Any other possibilities? Sandi
