Christina,

I am also searching for the Robertsons (and Duncans) but also have
Greigs,
Walkers, Simpsons and Murrays in my background. Here are some of them
-- I
could send you more information if you see any connection. Let me know
if
there is a connection and if you have additional information.

I am looking for information on and ancestors/descendents of James
Robertson
who married Margaret Walker on March 1, 1792 in Longside, Aberdeen,
Scotland. Their known children were James (1793), William (1794, Anne
(1797) and Robert (1800).

Robert Robertson and his wife Janet (Jane) Lawson were married November
05,
1829 in Longside,
Aberdeen, Scotland. Their children were:

Alexander: born 1835 in Stricken, Aberdeen, Scotland

George: christened January 20, 1837 in Longside, Aberdeen, Scotland who
married Agnes Todd December 31, 1864 in Longside

Janet: Christened March 23, 1839 in Longside, Aberdeen, Scotland

William: Christened January 15, 1841 in Longside, Aberdeen, Scotland

Robert: Christened October 19, 1842 in Longside, Aberdeen, Scotland

Ann: Christened May 17, 1844 in Longside, Aberdeen, Scotland

Their son Alexander Robertson married Margaret Greig ( born June 17,
1837 )
on December 8, 1869 in Longside. One of Alexander's and Margaret's
sons, my
grandfather James Robertson, was born December 29, 1868 in Cairntradlin
Kinellar, county of Aberdeen and died January 19, 1942 in Lake Forest,
Illinois. James Robertson emigrated to the United States arriving on
November 1, 1893.

James married Agnes Duncan March 7, 1895 in Lake Forest. Agnes was born
1871 in Muir of Kinellar, Aberdeenshire and died in 1946 in Lake Forest.
Agnes Duncan arrived in the U.S. May 29, 1893.

I can trace the Greigs back seven additional generations on the
internet,
but only one additional generation on the Duncans and two for the
Robertsons.

Alexander's and Margaret's other children were:

Alexander: born May 10, 1861 in Longside

Robert: born December 23, 1862 in Rathen, Aberdeen, Scotland

John: born October 27, 1864 in Rathen, Aberdeen, Scotland

Margaret Ann: born July 11, 1867 in Kinellar, Aberdeen, Scotland

James: born December 29, 1868 in Kinellar, Aberdeen, Scotland (my
Grandfather)

George: born February 6, 1870 in Kinellar, Aberdeen, Scotland

Janet: born February 12, 1871 in Kinellar, Aberdeen, Scotland

Thomas: born May 15, 1872 in Kinellar, Aberdeen, Scotland

Barbara: born July 26, 1873 in Kinellar, Aberdeen, Scotland

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

Jerry Robertson
Fremont, California

> Hi everyone, I'd like to say that this money is money well spent and
would
like to ask if I dare do you know if they do the same with the English
Census. (My husbands English) and I have found so much of my own family
history from the use of that and the familysearch.org and a couple of
others
and find that none are too expensive or even free!! I'd also like to
own
copies of earlier ones. Would appreciate any advice on how to obtain
copies
of them. Names I am researching are
> WALKER, GREIG, SIMPSON, ROBERTSON, EWEN, CHRYSTAL, HAY, MURRAY and
thats
only 3 generations. I would also like to say that I have been in
contact
with about 6 other people who are related to me by using the method of
helping one another. Many thanks for the interesting things we talk
about
on these pages.
