Hi all
In 1887 one James Hunter Walker was born the illegitimate son of
Alexander Walker and Jessie Hunter in New Byth, King Edward District,
Aberdeenshire, Scotland. There was a paternity suit and the address of
the father was given as 3 National Court, Aberdeen and birth
certificate amended to suit. Alexander Walkers occupation was a farm
labourer at this time.
Aberdeen City archives informed me that the address above was
also known as 42 Castle Gate. No information was forthcoming from the
Parish minutes, postal directories, or the Valuation Rolls at that time.
When James Hunter Walker married Helen Main Harwell at Garlogie
Cottages, Skene, Aberdeenshire he gave his fathers name. i.e. Alexander
Walker, and occupation on as a baker. This was in 1914 and he was still
alive.
Can anyone help or suggest a way forward please.

Thanks, Mike

England.
