Hi Liz
My Own mother was 45 when I was born after a 20 year gap from the last child
of three boys she had in her early to mid 20's. Ironically my mum's maiden
name is Wilson but she is from Fradwell in Staffordsire. My sister in law's
Mother had her younger sister when she was 47 & so many months. I think
years gone by it was a lot more common to have a change of life baby as it
is called because they mistook certain signs to mean menopause & assumed
they would be unable to conceive. These days woman are more educated about
their bodies & we have better ways of preventing pregnencies if we want to.
I think it happened much more often back then than it does today.
Kind Regards
Helen from a currently wet Queenland Australia.
