Trond,
I am hoping that the culprit might have second thoughts on the subject of privacy and see their way fit to send you an apology offlist or otherwise. I think the fact that you have merely supplied a list of volunteers who are willing to share information and have not published any of the MI's on the Internet, indicates that
your whole purpose in doing this adheres to the purpose of the List, ie to help fellow researchers in their efforts to discover and learn more of their ancestors. How many of us have discovered unknown cousins etc by belonging to the list?
I am sure most listers respect the privacy of others and would do nothing to compromise this. All Listers have the option to request details be directed to their email addresses rather than to the list, thus allowing for a certain degree of privacy.
I have not used your list as yet Trond, but I thank you for taking the time to set this up and to do it in such a fashion. You could well have asked each volunteer to publish their lists but you chose not to. I say that in doing so, you were protecting the privacy of others. Let's not forget however that MI's are very public
and I for one have visited many gravesites and have recorded MI's. In fact my father had a great collection of memorable MI's, most of which had a great story to tell.
Thanks again Trond.
