Gosh, I hope we are related!
I have an Alexander Monro (MUNRO) born about 1860 in Dundee, according to the
1891 census for Montrose. On that census, he was listed as 20 years old.
His father and mother were William Monro(Munro) and Mary Shanks.
His Paternal Grandparents were Donald and Isabella( McKenzie) Monro(Munro) of
Aberdeen.
He had the following Brothers and Sister:
( all ages are from the 1881 census in Montrose:
John, 17
Donald, 15
Charles, 14
James, 11
David, 9
and
Elizabeth, 4
My research reveals that Donald ( my greatgrandfather) immigrated to
Lawrence, MA along with his brother, James. Elizabeth eventually ended up in
Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I do not know her married name.
I have no idea whatsoever where the others ended up.
If you think there is a connection, let me know.
If anyone ELSE out there has a connection...I'd be pleased to hear from
you,too!
