Seeking possible Old Aberdeen connection for Jean (b. 1793 Netley Camps, Southampton d. PEI Canada 1868); and her younger sister Rachel STEPHEN(S):
- Father John was b. in Monymusk 1769s and joined Perthshire Lt Infantry, 90th Foot, d. WIndies 1807
- mother died in Eqypt 1801 while the whole family was with the Napoleon expedition.
- The girls were brought "home" in 1801 to live with ??.
- Any Stephen MIs in
- Old Machar, (where Jean m. 1818 to Alexander Leslie, both then of the parish); or
- Roman Catholic or
- Non conformist
would be greatly appreciated.
Any other suggestions of how to seek the girls' "guardian" or John's family in Monymusk, would also be appreciated. John was listed as a millright when he joined the 90th Foot in 1794.
