I was checking the 1881 census in Stirling library this morning and i looked
up John Birss* age 50.He stayed with a Widow Barbra anderson age 79 and a
Margaret Birss age 40
the address was Floors Birse.
I pressed the neigbours tab and found on one side
in Old Garnie Birse
Elizabeth Mitchell* age 45 Born Stachan

and the other side in Ballochan Birse
Alexander Birss age 50 born in Birse
Barbara 43 born in Aboyne
james 14 born in Birse
Mary 11 born in birse
Alexander 8 born in Birse
George 5 born in Birse
Barbara 4 born in birse
Helen 2 born in birse
james Coutts 16 born in Battater

John Birss and Elizabeth Mitchell
Had 2 children Elspet and Alexander.

does anyone have any other census to see if they ever stayed together as a
couple.
