I have been checking through the IGI on line and found a family that may be
the GRANTs I am seeking.

My James GRANT, the son of Peter GRANT and Betsy STUART, was believed to
have been born at Grantown c 1809 (debatable) but I have now found a Peter
Grant married to Elspet STUART and one of their children a James christened
27 July 1801 at Inveravon. Siblings of James had names that repeat through
the family.

I know the Peter Grant I am seeking was a tailor. How can I establish what
occupation the Inveravon Peter Grant had?

Any assistance would be appreciated.
