Can anyone help, my son is Tobias Selbie Ashby, My father is William Black and my Granddad was William Selbie Black.

My dad knows his Granddad was Archibald and his grandmother was Helen. Is there any chance that she could have been Helen Selbie. I know that sometimes maiden names were used as middle names. When did this stop.! My Great grandparents must have been born around 1900's in Aberdeen.

Any information much appreciated.
