I have to disagree with you about Kirk Session Records. A lot are available
through the LDS Library and Family History Centres. Most of these records
are under marriages. I would be missing a lot of good information if I
hadn't been able to view these Records.

Hello Jim,
You're right about some marriage registers listed as an OPR, but really are
Kirk Session records. I had forgotten about that and I've looked a quite a
few of them as such. What I meant to get across is that there has been no
concerted effort to film all of the Kirk Session records extant for all
Scottish parishes and many of them still remain inaccessible to anyone not
able to get to Edinburgh. In the case of Orkney, all the K.S. records of
those islands have been allowed to remain in Kirkwall and are housed in the
Orkney Archives.
