Cliff - the usual spelling is Learney, and they are farms within a country
parish, not towns. At the time of recording, spelling was not standardised,
and clerks wrote the names as they thought they ought to be from the
spoken word.
Kincardine O'Neil M.I.s (cemetery inscriptions) are published by ANESFHS
in Aberdeen as a complete transcript, in a booklet costing 2 pounds 25p plus
postage.. There is a slightly older, abbreviated version in the pre-1855 Lower
Deeside M.I.s, but the new one is more accurate.
