Seeking information on ancestry of Thomas ROBERTSON,woolcomber in
Aberdeen, born circa 1760.He married twice. First wife's surname was
possibly GORDEN.Known surviving children of this marriage were
JAMES,born circa 1784 and THOMAS,born circa 1790,both births very
possibly in Aberdeenshire.JAMES married Christian BUCHAN 4/12/1817 in
St. Nicholas parish Aberdeen and died 16/1/1846 at Murcar.THOMAS married
Margaret LAW 29/11/1814 and died 24/4/1874 in Queen St. Aberdeen.
Second wife was Ann/e FIDDES ,date of marriage, 17/7/1796
at Old Machar.Known surviving child was Ann/e who married Alexander
FROST 10/5/1823 in Aberdeen. Other children's names of first marriage,
who did not survive, were PETER,MARGARET and ELIZABETH. The children who
did not survive from the second marriage
were,DAVID,WILLIAM,ALEXANDER,CHARLES,JOHN and CHRISTIAN.
I have also noted the marriage of a THOMAS ROBERTSON and
ELIZABETH GORDON on 15/6/1779 in the Cabrach.Known children of this
marriage were JOHN born 18/2/1781 and JAMES born 28/4/1782.Is this JAMES
the JAMES who married CHRISTIAN BUCHAN and was there a THOMAS born to
the same parents? I believe THOMAS ROBERTSON married to ELIZABETH GORDON
was the son of JOHN ROBERTSON and CLEMENTENA FARQUHARSON who were
married on 24/12/1744 at Strathdon. Other children were
ELIZABETH,JAMES,DAVID and CHARLES.
